Synopsis:
Patients enter VR while therapists control the intensity of various experiences using the desktop control panel to help them conquer their fears.  PATRONUS is an imec.icon research project.


Description:

The project has two exposure therapy Situations: Car Stuck in Traffic, & Cramped Elevator. Both of these were designed to evoke claustrophobic fear reactions at different intensities. For example the elevator size and number of occupants can be controlled in real time by the patient’s therapist, allowing for a slow build up to their true fear. The project showcased at the SuperNova 2018 event in Antwerp, Belgium.
